New funding initiative to visit the HAEU

The Historical Archives of the European Union are pleased to announce a new opportunity for researchers interested in a research trip to the Archives in Florence.

The Academic association for contemporary European studies (UACES) is launching a funding initiative for PhD students and early career researchers to visit our archives. The funding is available to UACES students and early career members.

The successful applicant will receive £ 1300 for their five to ten day research trip, including £ 1000 to cover travel, accommodation and subsistence while in Florence and £ 300 to cover the costs of attending the UACES annual conference in Lisbon in 2019. The research trip will take place in either Spring or Summer 2018.

To apply for funding, applicants must email their CV and covering letter to UACES, including details on the area they are currently researching, which HAEU holdings they are interested in, and how their research would benefit from a visit to the Archives.

If the applicant is successful, they will need to submit a paper or panel proposal based on their research at the Archives to the UACES Annual Conference taking place in Lisbon in 2019.

The deadline for applications is Sunday 31 December 2017.
